Reprogramming Your TogKey Pad

Your TogKey Pad is powered by VIAL firmware, allowing you to fully customize key mappings and functionality. This guide will walk you through the process of reprogramming your TogKey Pad using VIAL's tools.

Step 1: Accessing VIAL

VIAL provides two methods to configure your TogKey Pad: a downloadable application and a web-based version.

Downloadable Version:

  1. Visit the official VIAL website: https://get.vial.today
  2. Download the appropriate version for your operating system (Windows, macOS, or Linux).
  3. Install and open the VIAL application.

Web Version:

  1. Open your web browser and go to https://vial.rocks
  2. Ensure your TogKey Pad is connected via USB.
  3. Allow browser permissions if prompted to access your keyboard.

Step 2: Configuring Your TogKey Pad

  1. Open VIAL (either the installed application or the web version).
  2. Your TogKey Pad should automatically appear in the list of detected devices.
  3. Select your TogKey Pad to begin customization.
  4. Use the intuitive interface to remap keys, assign macros, and modify layers.
  5. Click "Save" to apply changes.

Step 3: Testing Your Changes

After saving your configuration:

  • Test the new key assignments to ensure they function as expected.
  • If needed, return to VIAL to fine-tune your setup.

Troubleshooting

  • Device Not Detected: Ensure your TogKey Pad is properly connected. Try a different USB cable or port.
  • Changes Not Applying: Confirm that you clicked "Save" after making modifications.
  • Weird Behavior when Using Macros: When using custom macros that use modifier keys, it is necessary to make sure the keys are released at the end of the macro. Please make sure that they are released using the "Up" command within VIAL, or it can lead to unpredictable input behavior. 
  • Web Version Issues: Use the latest version of the browser you are currently using, and grant the necessary USB permissions.
